![]() Plus, the WeatherTech visors don't need any adhesive whatsoever in order to stay in place (and will NEVER just "fall out"). All that I can say is WOW - there is a HUGE difference in quality, functionality and looks (the WeatherTech visors being SO much nicer). I also found that due to the design of the Lund visors that you couldn't really keep your windows cracked all that much while still being protected from rain, etc, so I quickly removed them from my vehicle for return to AutoZone.Īt that point, I went and found the original WeatherTech visors that I purchased used from another forum member and re-installed them (they were removed when my window tint was installed, and I was afraid to re-install them thinking they would damage my tint). So I sent an email to Lund who initially asked if I installed in properly and when I mentioned that there was no way to install them while putting the front flange on the outside of the window channel, as directed, the Lund representative later responded that their QA tech found an issue with this particular part after all and that they are working with their engineering department to correct the part, but they couldn't tell me when a replacement would be available. After letting the adhesive "cure" for about 36 hours, I quickly found that the window would "hit" this front flange every time I put the passenger-side window up, to the point where it started to "un-do" the 3M adhesive that is used to hold these things in! I struggled and struggled and could not get the front visors installed as-described, so I ended up installing all flanges on the inside of the window channel. The top and rear flanges uses adhesive to keep the visors in place and they go *inside* the window channel - the front flange is supposed to go *outside* the window channel, in-between the mirror cap and the rubber window gasket and has no adhesive (since it's supposed to install between the mirror cap and rubber piece). Basically, with the Lund VentVisor Elites, there is a top flange that runs above the visor, a small front flange and a small rear flange. I read the directions and when installing them, I quickly found that the front visors could not be installed as the directions stated. I found them AutoZone for $65 + shipping ($75 total). ![]() Even though I only wanted the visors for the front doors, you can only buy a complete set of (4) for the Impala, so that's what I bought, knowing that I was never going to install the rear visors (read about too many issues with them "falling out" and didn't like the way they looked on the rear doors). You should NOT have to put up with fitment problems with visors. So I recently decided to buy a new set of Lund VentVisor Elites for my 2012 Impala. I don't feel cheated- my adaptations make them work perfectly. I use WeatherTech front and rear digital-fit mats, but had to adapt them to fit properly. I personally have bought both the Mugen and the OEM visors for two Fits because of warnings about fitment issues from WeatherTech. Thanks for your warning, and good luck in finding a good solution for your own problem. It is disappointing to find out that this otherwise reliable manufacturer has fitment problems on Fits with their visors. ![]() There have been a lot of discussions about the value of WeatherTech visors on the forums. If you buy a heat gun from Harbor Freight or some other source, you will find ways to use it again. It's up to you- try to adapt the poorly fitting visors to be a reliable fit on your Fit, or buy new ones that are MADE for the Fit. Replacing the badly fitting visors with either OEM or Mugen clip-mounted visors absolutely WOULD work. I'm debating on returning these and purchasing ones with clips that I feel confident I won't lose them.I don't have your car with your new visors (obviously), but I would bet that a folded piece of thin plastic, like snipped from a milk carton or some other plastic container, could be heated with a heat gun and folded sharply to act as a spacer to hold the visors in place. The fronts fit great, but the rears are very loose in the channels.
